MANAGING JOURNEYMAN

 

Dave is a Certified Journeyman - General Carpenter 403A, with a breadth and depth of experience and versatility in a variety of aspects of the trades and the construction industry.  

 

At an early age, Dave demonstrated his trade/industry knowledge and hands-on skills and abilities as a 1994 award winning apprentice receiving "gold" in the provincial skilled trades competition and "bronze" at the national level. 

 

After Dave completed his formal apprenticeship training and successfully wrote his journeyman papers in 1994, he continued to broaden his skilled trades expertise to encompass drywall & acoustic mechanics, joinery, and industrial woodworking and stone masonry.  Dave has a diverse background in residential, industrial, commercial and institutional construction accompanied by remodelling, historical and insurance restoration.

In addition to his hands-on skilled trades and industry experience, Dave served 16 years as an adult educator for skilled trades apprenticeship and post-secondary engineering technology students.

As a past member of municipal council, Dave brings added value to the business and his clients by utilizing his applied understanding of municipal services, including planning, engineering, community development, committee of adjustment, building services and property standards.

Dave is an outcomes oriented tradesman and construction project administrator with ability to effectively organize and manage people and projects.  He has the financial administrative experience that ranges from small project budgeting to co-managing budgets over $200 million in public funds.
